Childhood Memories

I have a terrible memory. Like seriously, ask my friends...it's terrible. For some reason, I have a hard time remembering a lot from childhood. I have snapshots of things that happened here and there, but no 'my-family-always-...' type memories. A few of my memories:
  • Eating a pb&j on a paper towel in the living room with my mom watching soap operas.
  • My dad coming home and me being so excited, running to the door. I was holding a glass of water that had sweat which left my hands wet and slippery. I tried my best to open the door, but to no avail; my dad didn't see me standing there. All of a sudden, he opened the door, and with it, he took my big toe nail off. I was like 2 or 3, how I remember that, I have no idea. I remember he and mom rushing me to the kitchen sink to rinse it and doctor me up.
  • This one time, my brother and I were playing outside and being mean to each other (shocker). My mom came out and got on to us, and when she turned her back to go back upstairs, we both looked at each other and made silent mean faces. She jerked around and proclaimed that she "SAW THAT"...she really did have eyes in the back of her head.We both got bare-bottom spankings that day.
The other memories I carry with me are mostly fabricated through pictures...I don't really remember what happened or being somewhere, but I remember seeing a picture of me there, so I do have proof. Make sense?

So now that Carson is getting bigger, I'm often curious as to what memories he will take away from this childhood of his. Tomorrow I'll do a DITL (Day in the Life) documenting for him what we do all day. That way he can have some fabricated picture memories to go along with his real ones when he grows up. Can't wait to share that with you all!
